Who we are

Prof. Şule Oktay, MD PhD

After completing her high school education at Ankara Science High School, she graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1979, where she also completed a doctoral degree in Pharmacology in 1983. She became an Associate Professor of Pharmacology in 1986 and Professor of Pharmacology in 1993. She served as faculty member in Departments of Pharmacology at Medical Schools of Hacettepe University, Ankara University, and then Marmara University. Meanwhile, she worked actively in various levels of medical education management and served as the founding Head of the Department of Medical Education at the latter institution. She worked as a researcher at the Pharmacology Department of Ohio State University Medical School in the United States of America; completed investigations at the Department of Medical Education of the Liverpool University Medical School; and served as a summer course instructor on rational pharmacotherapy at the WHO Collaborating Centre at Groningen University in the Netherlands.

In April 2003, she retired from her position at the university and started working at a private contract research organization. Since May 2006, she continues her studies at Kappa, where she is also among the founding partners.

She is a member of Turkish Pharmacological Society, the British Pharmacological Society (invited member), Clinical Research Association, Pharmacovigilance Association and the Advisory Board of Turkish Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (TUCRIN).

Dr. Şule Oktay has authored many scientific publications in her field and her work has been awarded numerous times; she has received national and international funding for 20 of her projects; and has authored a great number of original research articles that were published in international journals. Her scientific publications have been cited about 900 times and she still serves as a reviewer in various national and international medical journals.

Çağla Ayhan, MD

Following completion of her high school education at Ankara Bahçelievler Cumhuriyet High School, she graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1997 and completed her residency at Physiology Department of Marmara University Medical School. Between 2006 and 2009, she served as a faculty member at the Physiology Department of Başkent University Medical School. At the time, she had already started to work part-time at Kappa, where she has been a full-time employee since September 2009. She continues her studies as a medical writer at Kappa.

Dr. Ayhan, who have received the “Young Scientist” award from Marmara University in 2000, have served over 700 articles in their reporting in scientific medical research article format, preparation for international journals, submission and revisions according to reviewers’ evaluations. She authored numerous articles that were published in national and international journals and have been cited numerous times.

Ahmet Esen Erdoğan

Following completion of his high school education at Bornova Anatolian High School, he graduated from Department of Civil Engineeering at Middle East Technical University (METU) Faculty of Engineering in 1998. He is currently a student of Dept. of Cultural Heritage and Tourism at Anadolu University. He has worked in various positions in the sectors of construction, ready mixed concrete production and environment. He joined Kappa as a partner and still works as manager responsible for administrative affairs, finance, sales, and marketing.

Serap Erdemli

Following completion of her high school education at Bornova Anatolian High School, she graduated from Department of Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University (METU) School of Architecture in 1987. She has worked as a partner and in executive positions in various sectors such as IT, public relations, and furniture and household goods production. As Kappa became a family-owned business in September 2006, she joined as a partner.
